Summary: A growing, privately held organization in Waukesha County is seeking an HR Generalist & Executive Assistant to support both the employee lifecycle and executive operations in a small business environment.

This is a hands‑on, operational role with direct visibility to the President and leadership team.

You will own day‑to‑day HR administration while also providing executive‑level support that helps drive accountability, follow‑through, and business execution. In a company of fewer than 50 employees, this position plays a meaningful role in how the organization runs.

HR Generalist Responsibilities HR Operations & Compliance
  • Own and execute day‑to‑day HR administration across the full employee life cycle
  • Maintain employee files, records, and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Support policy administration and consistent application of company practices
  • Track required trainings, acknowledgements, and documentation
  • Support documentation related to employee relations matters, corrective actions, and compliance‑related records, escalating complex issues as appropriate
  • Drives administration of employee benefits
Talent & Workforce Support
  • Support and execute full‑cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection in partnership with leadership
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines through job fairs, community outreach, referrals, and proactive sourcing efforts
  • Support talent development initiatives by assisting with training coordination and performance management processes
  • Drives staff SMART goal documentation, updating and quarterly leader meeting check‑in process.
  • Facilitate onboarding, new hire orientation, and off‑boarding processes
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR questions and guidance
  • Assist leaders with employee relations matters, escalating when appropriate
Culture, Engagement & Business Partnership
  • Help translate business goals into practical HR processes and tools
  • Support leadership with communication, consistency, and follow‑through
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR efficiency, clarity, and scalability
  • Contribute to a professional, people‑centered workplace culture
  • Provide high‑level administrative and operational support to the President and leadership team, including document preparation, correspondence, records management, and follow‑through on key initiatives
  • Manage incoming calls and communications; route inquiries appropriately and ensure timely, professional responses
  • Serve as backup support for administrative functions as needed to ensure continuity of business operations
  • Support proposal development, bid summaries, and management follow‑ups; coordinate related documentation and tracking
  • Attend select client meetings to support proposal delivery, project timelines, and follow‑up actions
  • Assists with coordinate and track operational service requests (e.g., leak calls), maintaining required tracking tools and facilitating follow‑up for permanent repairs
  • Request, organize, and maintain client and project documentation, including warranties and related records
  • Assist with planning and execution of company meetings, events, and internal gatherings
