Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Description
Summary: Responsible for maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock. Recording location of inventory. Preparing finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product and documents.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Unload and load material from vehicles.
- Verify materials received against packing list and purchase order number.
- Examine material received, verify part numbers, and check against quality standards.
- Receive incoming inventory records on computer system.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers.
- Transport materials and items from receiving or production areas to designated areas.
- Fill sales orders for internal and external customers per specific instructions.
- Stack or assemble material into bundles and band together.
- Remove samples of material and label with identifying information.
- Collaborate with the inventory control and purchasing groups on product issues.
- Maintain assembly areas throughout the warehouse; ensure neat and orderly storage of material.
- Follow and comply with all safety regulations and work rules and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements
Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both preferred.

- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to critically think and solve problems.
- Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment that includes but not limited to computers, scanners, side loaders, Sit Down Forklifts, Bendi’s, Overhead Crane, metal cutting saw and various small hand tools.
- Ability to pass OSHA Forklift Operator Training Program.
- Ability to utilize company operating system; ERP software and RF Scanners.

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
