We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Production Planner to establish, maintain, and execute a valid production schedule across all product lines. This role is responsible for optimizing throughput, minimizing manufacturing cycle time and inventory, and ensuring on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, cross-functional communication abilities, and a solid understanding of manufacturing planning and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities- Establish, maintain, and execute a valid production schedule for all items.
- Level-load daily production schedules by analyzing resource capacity and constraints to optimize throughput and minimize cycle time and inventory.
- Assist the Master Production Scheduler (MPS) in maintaining forecast accuracy and safety stock levels.
- Direct daily workflow (WIP – Work in Process) through analysis of reports and cross-functional input.
- Align and prioritize factory resources to maximize efficiency and ensure on-time customer shipments.
- Analyze daily material and parts availability to establish delivery dates that meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Purchasing.
- Own and drive key manufacturing metrics including:
- Manufacturing cycle time (OTTC)
- Throughput
- Participate in and lead process improvement initiatives such as Continuous Improvement Framework events, Kaizens, and workshops.
- Support development and implementation of scheduling procedures and best practices.
- Establish optimal inventory levels using Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory management philosophies.
- Actively contribute to standard work creation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI (relocation is not offered).
- APICS CPIM Certification.
- Experience with SAP ECC/MRP planning and/or purchasing modules.
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles (Kanban, pull systems, consignment).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and facilitation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving and process improvement tools:
- Six Sigma DMAIC
- DOE
- Pareto Charts
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Process Mapping
- A3 and 8D methodologies
- Strong ethics and integrity with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Results-driven with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product flow.
- Process-oriented mindset with continuous improvement focus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong alignment with company values, policies, and Code of Ethics.
