Paint Line Attendant / Production Lead
LOCATION: Waukesha, WI
REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Exempt
Our OpportunityCoordinating with the Manufacturing Supervisor, operate and oversee painting operations. Provide direction and work assignments to painters and paint attendants. Maintain operational control of the painting equipment. Assist supervisor by serving as lead person to painters and paint attendants.
Your Responsibilities- Train painters and attendants, and assign work to them.
- Read job specifications from shop drawing, blueprints or BOM to determine paint time and requirements.
- Verify paint requirements for orders.
- Observe painting operations to detect defects.
- Check for paint quality of finished product.
- Help in the tagging and packaging process.
- Set up painting equipment and make changes as needed.
- Maintain the spraying equipment and the paint exhaust filter system.
- Provide creative solutions for hanging parts.
- Notify Purchasing of material needed for area.
- Participate in production meetings to update current production status and plan future production.
- Lift heavy objects by hand, or with a power hoist/crane, or forklift.
- Two years related experience as a painter and/or paint line attendant.
- Read and understand shop drawings or prints.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform basic calculations using a calculator.
- Read and use tape measure.
- Basic computer skills in a windows environment/ERP system.
- Demonstrates values of honesty and integrity, respect for others, teamwork and collaboration.
- Physical requirements include:
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being handled. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, bending, pulling, and extended periods of standing. - The employee in this position must wear OSHA approved safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and painter’s suit.
