Job Summary
This position will independently set‑up, operate, and troubleshoot one machine or equipment, including Shear, PNL, Turret, Brake Press, Robotic Cell, Cut‑to‑Length, Roll Forming/Seaming, and Press Lock.
Responsibilities- Set‑up, thread the material through, and operate the machine independently.
- Follow daily manufacturing work orders, paying special attention to materials and adding any required notations.
- Assist with operation of other machinery under close supervision.
- Assist with packaging at the end of line as needed.
- Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, place tags/labels on finished product.
- Perform quality checks to verify lengths, widths, and weights with appropriate tools.
- Achieve production goals while complying with safety requirements.
- Mount and originate slitter knives, spaces, and guide discs for specified coil widths; adjust clearances for roll‑former only.
- Adjust machinery using observation and monitoring equipment feedback; perform quality control methods.
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and conduct daily equipment inspection.
- Keep work area orderly.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Highly motivated with a sound work ethic.
- Able to safely operate a sit‑down forklift; forklift certification required.
- Demonstrate safe working practices and attend to detail.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Good communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Basic computer, math, and problem‑solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
- Team player capable of following instructions from management and peers.
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience.
- Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with ambient temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and increased noise levels.
- 40 hours per week, 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 10 PM‑6 AM).
- Flexible to overtime and weekend hours when required.
- Lifting or carrying: 1–10 lb, 11–20 lb, 21–40 lb, 41–50 lb, 51 lb or more.
- Pushing or pulling: 1–40 lb, 41–50 lb, 51 lb or more.
- Bending or stooping.
- Reaching above shoulder level.
- Driving automatic equipment vehicles.
- Operating machinery or power tools.
- Climbing ladders, stairs, etc.
- Walking, standing, sitting.
- Working in extreme temperatures.
- Repetitive motion (wrists, hands, fingers).
- Vision, hearing, dexterity, hand–eye coordination.
- Steel or composite toe boots.
- Safety glasses.
- Cut‑resistant gloves and arm guards.
- Hearing protection.
