Work from blueprints, routings, process sheets, specifications, and computerized production information to determine machining requirements, tooling, operating sequences, and inspection needs.

Select, prepare, install, and adjust appropriate tooling for the assigned operation. For pullbore work, this may include calculating head size, grinding heads, and assembling bars, bushings, packing, and springs.

Set and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and operating sequences within standard machining practices. Recognize machining problems through sound, cutting conditions, test cuts, measurements, or other indicators and make appropriate adjustments.

Maintain specified dimensions, tolerances, and concentricity. Inspect work using precision measuring instruments and complete required inspection documentation and Statistical Process Control charting, as applicable.

Maintain heat-number and material traceability and accurate records of operations using required paper and computerized systems.

Initiate process-change or standard-adjustment requests and work with team members to resolve machining problems and assist in the development of special tooling or improved methods.

Operate multiple machines when qualified and needed to meet production requirements. Employees may work primarily within one machining area or may be trained and assigned across Pullbore and T-Lathe operations based on qualifications and business needs.

Safely operate cranes and other lifting devices as required. Perform machine cleanouts and other general labor associated with the work area.

Assist with the training and instruction of new employees as assigned and perform other related duties as required.

General knowledge of machining practices, shop mathematics, blueprints, and specifications.
