Skilled Laser Operator to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 4:30pm-2:30am. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC laser cutting and a strong understanding of machining processes. This role involves operating laser cutting machines, ensuring quality production, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
Duties |Responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
- Perform setup, calibration, and adjustments on laser equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
- Utilize hand tools and fabrication techniques for assembly and finishing processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery, including forklifts, cranes, and press brake machines.
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation, particularly in laser cutting.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, CNC lathe, stamping press, CNC milling machine, welding, and sheet metal fabrication is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
- Experience in quality inspection processes to ensure product specifications are met.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
