Role Summary / Purpose

The Manufacturing Engineer - Test & Paint is responsible for improving and supporting engine paint and testing operations through process optimization, continuous improvement, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. This role leads equipment selection and capital projects, supports New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, develops manufacturing processes and documentation, and works cross‑functionally to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. The position plays a key role in driving productivity, resolving technical and quality issues, and advancing Lean Six Sigma initiatives across paint, test, and finishing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, optimize, and support production processes within the engine test cell, paint, and finishing operations to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Proactively drive productivity improvements through process optimization, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and implement innovative technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes to support current production and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Lead the specification, procurement, installation, and validation of equipment such as test cell systems, paint application equipment, curing systems, fixtures, tooling, and material handling solutions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, work instructions, process parameters, and standard times.
  • Serve as the technical liaison to external suppliers, contractors, and engineering partners supporting paint and test operations.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability, serviceability, product quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support NPI tollgate reviews, production readiness assessments, and weekly project status meetings.
  • Lead and support capital investment projects related to paint, test, and manufacturing facility improvements.
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, quality, first-pass yield, and process capability.
