The Technical Artist in the Printed Electronics department prepares accurate artwork, customer proofs, and production files from customer-supplied artwork and engineering drawings using Adobe Illustrator. This role preserves original customer files, maintains revision-controlled working and released files, and prepares artwork that meets approved customer specifications and manufacturing requirements. The position supports both printed electronics production and the quick-turn process through accurate artwork preparation, timely revisions, careful review, and coordination with Engineering, Printed Electronics, Art, Customer Service, and Process Planning.

The Technical Artist in the Printed Electronics department prepares accurate artwork, customer proofs, and production files from customer-supplied artwork and engineering drawings using Adobe Illustrator.

Preserves original customer files and creates editable working copies in Adobe Illustrator using established folder and naming conventions.

Reviews customer artwork and engineering drawings for completeness, dimensions, tolerances, revision consistency, and suitability for the intended printing process; communicates missing information and questions through the appropriate internal channels.

Prepares customer proofs, print-ready artwork, and applicable production separations for printed electronics and quick-turn work. Supports prototype artwork and approved revisions as assigned, while meeting required review and approval requirements.

Checks applicable layer alignment, dimensions, registration marks, and artwork features against approved drawings and manufacturing guidelines; refers electrical design questions to Engineering.

Makes routine file-format and artwork preparation adjustments within approved specifications and established guidelines. Obtains required approval before changing dimensions, materials, circuit geometry, layer relationships, or other customer or engineering requirements.

Performs and documents artwork self-checks using applicable checklists. Submits artwork for required peer or Engineering review and confirms required approvals are recorded before production release.

Maintains part numbers, revisions, dates received, and approval status; preserves original files and separates superseded files from current released production artwork.

Communicates work status, missing information, blocked work, and schedule risks for printed electronics and quick-turn requests to affected departments. Coordinates competing priorities and turnaround expectations with the Engineering Manager.

Uses established request and change-control processes to document artwork changes and communicate approved revisions to affected departments.

• Associate degree in technical art, graphic design, drafting, or a related field required.
• Experience preparing technical artwork or interpreting engineering drawings preferred.
• Experience using Adobe Illustrator preferred; must develop proficiency through training to prepare accurate production artwork independently.
• Experience with manufacturing artwork, screen printing, printed electronics, or revision-controlled files preferred.
