Position OverviewFull‑time Catering Captain, hiring immediately. Flexible full‑time schedule with weekend work. Pay range: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour. Free shift meals.
Job SummaryCoordinates catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion. Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director. May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
- Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements and resolve last‑minute changes.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items.
- Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions.
- Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications.
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license required; may also need a valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol server’s permit as required by state law.
- Previous banquet or catering experience required; prior bartending experience is a plus.
