Position Summary
The Boom Truck Crane Operator is responsible for transporting and safely operating a truck-mounted crane to support commercial roofing and sheet metal projects. This role requires safe equipment setup, precise material placement, and strong teamwork on active construction job sites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Drive truck-mounted crane from warehouse to job sites.
* Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and crane.
* Safely set up crane for daily operations, including proper outrigger placement and site stabilization.
* Operate hydraulic crane attachments (humpty, clam, etc.).
* Interpret load charts to ensure safe lifting practices.
* Lift, move, and position materials and equipment as directed.
* Communicate effectively with ground crew using hand signals and/or radios.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
* Maintain required inspection logs and operational documentation.
* Identify and report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions.
* Work collaboratively as a TEAM player who gets along well with others.
* Assist with general labor tasks when crane operation is not required.
Position Requirements
* NCCCO Certification (NCCO Card) required.
* Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
* Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
* Prior experience operating and setting up truck-mounted cranes.
* Strong knowledge of safe rigging and lifting procedures.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties as required.
