1st Shift CNC Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs a wide range of production equipment, including mills, routers, saws, turret punches, and other custom hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains clear communication and documentation to minimize downtime and enhance product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment such as mills, routers, saws, turret punches, and custom hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
  • Perform CNC maintenance, including work on CNC Haas equipment, to keep machines running safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate and coordinate with external contractors to plan and perform repairs and maintenance when needed.
  • Work directly with contracted repair personnel on-site to support and oversee maintenance activities.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance work in the maintenance tracking software and document storage system.
  • Communicate clearly with the production team regarding equipment status, root cause of issues, and corrective actions taken.
  • Analyze equipment repairs and solutions, and make recommendations to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Drive actions to reduce equipment downtime and improve delivered product quality.
  • Help maintain an orderly maintenance department, including tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Attend external training, including travel to other facilities, to upgrade technical skills and stay current on equipment technologies.
  • Contribute to and actively participate in a strong safety culture, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment, processes, and maintenance practices.
  • Work additional hours as needed to respond to urgent maintenance needs or production demands.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or shop environment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for production and custom machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain mills, routers, saws, turret punches, and other shop equipment.
  • Demonstrated CNC maintenance experience, including work with CNC Haas machines.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to document maintenance activities accurately and promptly in maintenance tracking software.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with contractors and keep the production team informed on equipment status and corrective actions.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a production environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed.

Work Environment
