Job Objective:
Provide client-centered support, emergency assistance, case management, referrals, and follow-up to help individuals and families move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. Lead day-to-day Food Pantry operations and related TEFAP, food-recovery, donation, inventory, warehouse, logistics, volunteer, data/reporting, and seasonal Social Services functions. Coordinate Pathway of Hope services when the program is active.

Essential Functions
  • Respond to Social Services calls, email, referrals, and walk-in requests; schedule, interview, screen, and assess individuals and families; determine eligibility and appropriate assistance within program requirements, available funding, and delegated authority.
  • Review household income, expenses, goals, and barriers; develop practical service plans; provide emergency assistance and referrals for food, housing, shelter, utilities, transportation, health, emotional, spiritual, and other needs; and document follow-up and outcomes.
  • Administer assigned emergency-assistance programs and the client/program components of community-based Social Services grants. Understand and follow grant requirements; verify eligibility and supporting documents; prepare payment requests. Provides direct service to clients and works collaboratively with vendors, finance, development, and leadership. Track services, outcomes, progress toward grant goals, and deadlines; maintain complete files; and provide accurate client/program data, supporting paperwork, and client success stories obtained and used with appropriate consent for applications, reports, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Participate in local and divisional POH activities; identify and enroll appropriate families; complete required assessments, action plans, case notes, referrals, progress reviews, and outcome documentation. Submit required POH reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources; coordinate referrals and appropriate information exchange; participate in assigned agency, partner, coalition, and program meetings; and cultivate professional relationships consistent with confidentiality and program rules.
  • Manage scheduled and emergency Food Pantry operations, including service coverage, client check-in and flow, distribution, required signs and notices, supply orders or transfers for the Emergency Lodge and other Corps programs, and resolution of service-day issues.
  • Oversees food pantry and warehouse operations, including pickups and deliveries. Ensures proper procedures are followed for donations.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and assigned volunteers or work-experience participants; coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator; assign schedules, routes, pantry, receiving, inventory, seasonal, and special-event work; provide training; and monitor safety, confidentiality, accuracy, and completion.
  • Maintain TEFAP and food-program compliance, including eligibility and proxy records, Civil Rights requirements and training, required notices, temperature and storage controls, FIFO rotation, spoilage or loss documentation, record retention, required reporting, and monitoring/site-review readiness.
  • Document client contacts, services, transactions, referrals, and outcomes in approved paper and electronic systems; complete timely SIMS entry and reconcile monthly data, statistics, NSS support, TEFAP, Food Recovery, Gifts in Kind, grant, POH, seasonal, and other assigned reports.
  • Lead or coordinate assigned seasonal Social Services programs - including Angel Tree, Backpack Coalition/back-to-school, Stuff the Bus, Stamp Out Hunger, and related events - from partner registration and planning through intake/registration, inventory, volunteer and site logistics, distribution, reporting, and closeout.
