Overview

GE Health Care is seeking a Staff Software Architect to lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality software applications and services. In this role, you will shape platform and application architecture, collaborate across global engineering teams, and contribute to products that support GE Health Care’s imaging technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable software solutions in collaboration with system engineers, front‑end developers, and software engineers.
  • Lead architecture, design documentation, requirements analysis, and best‑practice implementation across the full software lifecycle.
  • Develop high‑quality code that meets standards and supports long‑term maintainability.
  • Build and enhance services, APIs, and data access layers.
  • Assess and optimize application performance using appropriate metrics and techniques.
  • Apply strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software security, and testing methodologies.
  • Advocate for Agile, Lean, XP, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
  • Break down complex problems, estimate development efforts, and deliver high‑quality results.
  • Offer technical guidance, share new ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Adapt to evolving requirements and collaborate effectively across a global, multi‑site Agile environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM discipline.
  • 8+ years of software development experience
    , including hands‑on architecture and design work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with:
  • Java/JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Database technologies: JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data
  • Experience working with complex systems that interface with physical devices.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Lean/XP practices, Continuous Integration, and documentation standards.
  • Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, JRules).
  • Familiarity with BDD/Cucumber.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions and influence through data and clear rationale.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to ask clarifying questions and explore innovative approaches.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, and deliver high‑quality results in dynamic environments.
  • Curiosity and initiative to experiment with emerging frameworks and technologies.
