As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help shape the next generation of MRI technology used by clinicians and patients around the world. You'll design, develop, test, and support software components for GE Health Care MR scanners, collaborating closely with software engineers, systems engineers, product leaders, and domain experts. This role is ideal for experienced software engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working in Linux environments, and developing software that interfaces with physical devices in highly regulated industries.

This position is based in Waukesha, WI and requires regular onsite collaboration with engineering teams. Candidates should be comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams in an in-person environment.

* + Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features for GE Health Care MR scanners.

+ Collaborate closely with representative users, feature leads, systems engineers, and subject matter experts to define and implement innovative solutions.

+ Apply modern software engineering principles including software architecture, design, testing, security, scalability, and maintainability.

** Required Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM field.

+ 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting production software applications.

+ Strong experience working in Unix/Linux development environments.

+ Experience designing and developing distributed systems or microservices-based applications.

+ Experience building software that interfaces with hardware, instruments, sensors, or other physical devices.

Experience with software version control, configuration management, and build tools such as Git, Perforce, Maven, or Gradle.

+ Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.

+ Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements development, architecture, implementation, verification, deployment, and maintenance.

+ Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems.

+ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.

+ Experience developing software for regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, industrial automation, telecommunications, robotics, or defense.
