Plant Controller

The Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. They will supervise the inventory, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. This position is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

• Work closely with the operations team to oversee cost accounting functions to include shop floor data collection, job costing, and variance analysis.
• Analyze work orders for accuracy, completeness, and for required system entries.
• Analyze production costs, material usage, inventory, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with operations team to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support using the ERP system.
• Manages and monitors inventory valuation and cycle count program.
• Monitors and manages standard overhead rates.
• Manage the trial balance.
• Responsible for preparing various period end, quarterly, and year-end financial closing tasks in accordance with the appropriate timelines and GAAP requirements.
• Maintains general ledger chart of accounts.
• Performs balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepares and posts journal entries.
• Manages and maintains fixed asset subledger and associated depreciation schedules.
• Manages the annual audit reviews and tax documentation with our outside accounting firm.
• Monitoring of accounting cost standards

• Oversees collection on Accounts Receivable and timely payment of Accounts Payable.
• Reviews and Approves Monthly Credit Card statement
• Responsible for managing and monitoring complete and accurate capital expenditure records in compliance with company policy.
• Prepare weekly and period end operating cost and labor performance analyses for the operations team.
