Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Waunakee, Wisconsin, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital accounting functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of corporate tax, payroll processes, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and maintain accurate records of transactions.

- Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of journal entries to ensure financial accuracy.

- Oversee the general ledger, maintaining detailed and organized accounts.

- Administer full-cycle payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

- Handle month-end closing procedures, including reporting and account reconciliation.

- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.

- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures.

- Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries.

- Hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing.

- Familiarity with month-end closing processes and financial reporting.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.

- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
