Engineering Project Manager
We're partnered with a long-established pharmaceutical manufacturer seeking a hands-on Engineering Project Manager to lead capital projects in a cGMP API manufacturing environment. This is not a coordinator role. The ideal candidate is a technical subject matter expert who personally diagnoses problems, makes design decisions, and owns projects end-to-end — not someone who relies on consultants to do the technical thinking.
What you'll do:
- Own $1MM+ capital projects from scope/URS through design, construction, commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ, and validated turnover
- Act as the technical authority for process, facility, and utility systems
- Support new product scale-up and capacity expansions
- Troubleshoot and improve systems in an aging, complex GMP facility
- Drive work through change control, CQV, and structured problem-solving
Must-have background:
- 5+ years in pharma, biologics, or FDA-regulated manufacturing
- Hands-on CQV experience (FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Capital project ownership (not just participation)
- Experience with process & clean utilities (WFI/RO, clean steam, HVAC, etc.)
- B.S. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred
