Application Engineer

• Employee Type Full Time - Salary

• Assist internal and external customers in the proper selection, use, and maintenance of NORD Products.
• Complete assigned projects through the:
  • Implementation of proper documentation and procedures to ensure products are correctly selected, manufactured, assembled, and tailored (i.e. modified) for specific applications.
  • Documentation of product specifications for use by customer service, sales, and customers.
  • Preparation of materials for training on Nord products or other industry-specific technical topics.
• Review, design, and calculate complicated applications and product modifications.
• Travel with sales team members to assist with technical presentations, discussions, and training.
• Perform field sales and service calls as required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar field required.

Experience: 7-10 years prior experience with electro-mechanical power transmission products.

Skills and Key Attributes:

• AutoCAD experience or the ability to learn AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with variable frequency drives and basic knowledge of industrial wiring.
• Ability to effectively work directly with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work at a desk for extended periods and travel without limitations as required by business needs.

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to NORD employees and customers regarding NORD products and applications. This role executes projects to improve product performance and reliability, shares technical knowledge, and supports sales efforts.
