Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Technician is responsible for preparing small batches of material for commercialization. Each day begins with a team meeting to establish priorities and focus on assisting with two primary processes: extracting enzymes from pig glands and utilizing laboratory equipment such as column chromatography and UV spectrophotometry to scale small‑batch products for commercial readiness.
Responsibilities- Handle raw materials, ensuring QA release and proper storage.
- Assist with production scheduling and verify material availability.
- Prepare and maintain the manufacturing area, including cleaning and changeovers.
- Execute pilot‑scale and commercial processes such as extractions, mixing, and powder finishing.
- Operate equipment including processing tanks, temperature‑controlled vessels, vacuum/pressurized systems, and HMIs (touchscreen control systems).
- Monitor process parameters such as temperature and timing, and follow established procedures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 6+ months of experience in GMP or pharmaceutical environments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree or above in Biotechnology field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience preferred within GMP or pharmaceutical environments.
Flexible hours with options for 24 or 36 hours per week. First shift: 6 am‑6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, with optional Friday or Monday. Third shift: 6 pm‑6 am on Friday and Saturday, with optional Thursday or Sunday. Weekend work includes a schedule incentive and a differential for third shift. Training occurs Monday‑Friday during either the first or second shift, with guaranteed training for three months extendable up to nine months.
Facility includes large suites, smaller suites, benchtops, and areas throughout the plant, including one area with three flights of stairs.
Permanent position based out of Waunakee, WI.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $54,080.00 - $69,680.00 per year. Eligible for Medical, Dental and Vision on day 1 of employment. Basic Life insurance, Basic AD&D insurance and Short‑term disability for all full‑time employees. Optional Voluntary Life, Voluntary AD&D and Long‑term disability coverage. Health and Flexible spending account options. 401(k) contributions available upon hire with company matching. Annual 160 hours of vacation & 40 hours of sick time (pro‑rated based on hire date) and 9 paid holidays.
