This role is fully on‑site at a manufacturing facility. We are currently hiring multiple candidates (ideal two days a week for each location) for the following locations:
Waupaca, WI;
Whitehall, WI;
Oak Creek, WI;
Tell City, IN;
Circleville, OH; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Role Summary

The Energy Systems Technician is a hands‑on, client‑facing role responsible for executing The Wasmer Company’s On.Site Optimization (OSO) energy management program as the dedicated on‑site energy manager for a Fortune‑500 manufacturing client. In this role, you will identify inefficiencies, optimize equipment, and improve safety, sustainability, and operational performance across major energy‑consuming systems—including but not limited to compressed air, HVAC, power quality, cooling towers, chillers, refrigeration, and lighting—using Wasmer’s structured OSO workflows, diagnostics, and engineering tools.

While mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering experience is preferred, strong technical problem‑solvers with analytical ability, independence, communication skills, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Wasmer provides the tools, training, and framework; you bring the drive, discipline, and technical aptitude to deliver measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the client’s dedicated on‑site energy manager, addressing client‑specific goals, maintaining strong communication, and reporting weekly, monthly, and annually on progress.
  • Work directly with on‑site client stakeholders—including but not limited to plant managers, engineers, operations leaders, energy managers, CFOs, and maintenance teams—to build strong relationships and deliver exceptional service.
  • Execute Wasmer’s OSO energy management program, following 200+ structured workflows focused on electricity, natural gas, water, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Learn and apply Wasmer’s facility‑wide optimization methodology while leading energy‑reduction efforts across key industrial systems—including compressed air, HVAC, boilers, chillers, refrigeration, cooling towers, lighting, and power quality.
  • Analyze utility bills, interval data, and trends to identify anomalies and key cost drivers.
  • Conduct facility walk‑throughs, diagnostics, and root‑cause analysis of performance issues.
  • Support implementation of behavioral and procedural improvements (e.g., shutdown processes)
  • Prepare and support utility incentive applications and required documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, power‑quality best practices, and new technologies.
  • Work alongside senior engineers for mentorship and skill development
