Indian Crossing Waterfront Bar, Restaurant, and Event Venue is a historic Waupaca landmark and a beloved waterfront destination on the Chain O’ Lakes. With a legacy rooted in community, dining, and entertainment, Indian Crossing is entering an exciting new era, and we’re seeking a Director of Operations to help lead it forward.
This role is ideal for a driven, people-focused leader who brings structure, energy, and pride to their work and who understands that great operations and great experiences go hand in hand.
Role DescriptionThe Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of Indian Crossing, ensuring seamless execution across all departments while preserving the venue's character, hospitality, and vibrant atmosphere.
You’ll be a visible, hands‑on leader, supporting managers, engaging with staff, and ensuring guests feel the magic from arrival to last call.
What You’ll Do- Lead and support department managers and staff across food & beverage, events, and guest services
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistent service standards
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
- Develop and implement operational systems, processes, and SOPs
- Manage operational budgets, costs, and profitability
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with ownership and leadership on strategic planning, seasonal programming, and special events
- Foster a culture built on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and fun
- A seasoned operations leader with hospitality, restaurant, or venue management experience
- Professional, dependable, and highly organized
- A strong communicator who leads by example and builds trust
- Comfortable making decisions in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments
- Personable, energetic, and genuinely enjoys working with people
- Passionate about delivering memorable experiences in a historic, waterfront setting
- 10+ years of proven experience in operations or hospitality leadership
- Strong people‑management and problem‑solving skills
- Financial and operational acumen
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal hours
- A high standard of excellence paired with a positive attitude
- Salary range: $100,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
