General Laborer

GFL Environmental is seeking a General Laborer to support daily waste management and recycling operations. In this field-based role, you will perform physical labor such as loading, unloading, and sorting materials, cleaning and organizing work areas, and assisting drivers and equipment operators. You'll follow strict safety and environmental procedures while working outdoors in a fast-paced setting. This position offers hands-on experience in an essential industry with opportunities to grow your skills and build a long-term career in environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks to support waste collection, recycling, and site operations
• Assist drivers and equipment operators with loading, unloading, and material handling
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas following company safety standards
• Sort, lift, and move materials, containers, and debris as directed
• Follow environmental, safety, and compliance procedures at all times
• Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas and report hazards or issues promptly
• Work effectively in a team in outdoor, fast-paced environments
• Follow work orders, instructions, and schedules from supervisors
