We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a dedicated correctional healthcare team in Wisconsin. Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients in accordance with established nursing standards, facility policies, and provider orders.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in health status.
- Conduct intake screenings, health assessments, and ongoing patient evaluations.
- Assist with chronic disease management, preventative care, and routine healthcare services.
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies and urgent healthcare needs.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within electronic medical record systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and security protocols at all times.
- Provide patient education, support, and health promotion guidance to encourage wellness and treatment compliance.
- Current, active, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Minimum of one (1) year of correctional nursing experience.
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to undergo, pass and maintain a background check.
Preferred- Experience working with diverse, underserved, or vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Previous experience in behavioral health, public health, emergency care, or chronic disease management.
