Shipping Coordinator

Position Title:

Shipping Coordinator Wage: $20.50/hour + $1/hour Shift Premium

Shift: 1st or 2nd

• Prepare, verify, and process outgoing shipments
• Check product quantities, weights, labels, and shipping information for accuracy
• Create and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, commercial invoices, shipping labels and advance shipping notices
• Coordinate shipments using various transportation methods, including LTL, parcel, expedited, air, and ocean freight
• Enter and maintain shipping information in SAP and other computer systems
• Monitor customer requirements and ensure shipments meet all specifications
• Track and manage returnable containers and communicate with customers regarding inventory levels
• Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts, hand jacks, hoists, and other equipment
• Assemble, band, and shrink-wrap shipments for safe transportation
• Inspect shipments before departure to ensure quality and accuracy
• Maintain shipping supplies and inventory
• Communicate effectively with production, receiving, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance and cleaning
• Assist with shipping department operations and provide backup support for the Shipping Supervisor when needed

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• At least one year of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or related experience preferred
• Ability to operate or become certified to operate a forklift
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of shipping systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, move, and handle shipping materials safely
