Staab Construction is seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. We have estimating opportunities within our Earthwork, Building, and Mechanical divisions, offering a variety of challenging projects across Wisconsin and the Midwest.
The Estimator plays a key role in securing profitable work by developing accurate and competitive project estimates, coordinating bid efforts, and building strong relationships with owners, suppliers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
What You’ll Do- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing.
- Coordinate and lead all phases of the bidding process.
- Participate in pre‑bid meetings and site visits.
- Prepare bid proposals and estimate reviews.
- Support negotiated and design‑build project opportunities.
- Assist Project Managers with project turnover and change order pricing.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners.
- Experience in construction estimating, project engineering, project management, or a related construction role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Technical degree plus experience will be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of construction means, methods, and costs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Experience in earthwork, commercial building, industrial, mechanical, municipal, or water/wastewater construction is a plus.
