At the Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area, Youth Development Specialists create positive, engaging experiences for kids and teens. Whether your interests are sports, art, STEM, gaming, education, leadership, or simply working with young people, there is a place for you on our team.

You don't have to be an expert in everything-we'll provide training, resources, and support to help you succeed.

You'll spend your day interacting with youth and teens, leading activities, building positive relationships, and helping create a Club environment where every young person feels safe, included, and supported.

Depending on your interests, you may lead programs in areas such as:

• Art, music, and creativity
• Sports, fitness, and recreation
• Gaming, E-Sports, and social recreation
• STEM, technology, and hands-on experiments
• Academic success and learning activities
• Healthy lifestyles and social-emotional wellness
• Leadership and community service
• Career and workforce readiness

You'll have opportunities to bring your own interests and creativity into the programs you lead.

As a Youth Development Specialist, you will:

• Build positive, supportive relationships with youth and teens.
• Create a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and fun Club environment.
• Plan and lead engaging programs and activities.
• Encourage Members to try new things and develop new skills.
• Supervise youth and maintain appropriate staff-to-member ratios.
• Reinforce Club expectations and positive behavior.
• Help Members develop confidence, leadership skills, and healthy relationships.
• Complete basic program attendance and documentation.
• Work alongside a team committed to helping young people succeed.

• 15-25 hours per week
  , with opportunities for additional hours.
• Monday-Friday.
• Primarily afternoons and evenings on school days.
• Morning and afternoon hours available on non-school days.
• Optional summer employment.
• Minimum availability of 15 hours per week required.

This position works especially well for students and individuals looking for consistent part-time hours while keeping mornings and weekends available.
