As a Soils Lab Technician, you will receive and prepare soil and geotechnical samples for testing, perform various soil and geotechnical tests, record and analyze data, prepare laboratory reports, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will also maintain lab equipment, document procedures, collaborate with team members, and provide technical support and training.

Requirements
  • 1‑5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with soil and/or geotechnical testing, including relevant laboratory experience/coursework at the university level.
  • Bachelor's degree in soil science, geosciences, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Receive and log‑in soil and geotechnical samples from various locations and depths.
  • Prepare samples for testing (drying, sieving, etc.).
  • Properly classify and describe soil samples per ASTM requirements.
  • Follow standard testing procedures (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO).
