As a Controls Engineer, you will lead all controls-related efforts for assigned projects, supporting everything from design through commissioning while ensuring high-quality, on-time project delivery.

Duties:
Including but not limited to:
  • Lead controls engineering efforts for assigned industrial projects.
  • Design control panels for industrial processes.
  • Develop I/O lists, I/O wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Generate bills of material.
  • Develop network diagrams and drawings.
  • Contribute to construction packages and technical specifications.
  • Program industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Perform application engineering for sensing and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot installed systems and resolve engineering issues.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Process Engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors.
  • Support project start-up and field commissioning activities.
  • Perform design modifications for new and existing electrical installations and power systems.
  • Provide technical support, recommendations, and solutions across departments.
  • Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders regarding progress and issues.
  • Deliver customer support via phone, email, and onsite visits.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting timelines and budget requirements.
  • Take initiative in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with PLC hardware, software, and configuration (Rockwell/Allen Bradley).
  • Experience with Factory Talk SE/ME programming.
  • Understanding of project workflows, including design, estimating, procurement, and construction support.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and able to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Preferred / Desired Experience:
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL, or other database programs.
  • Understanding of NEC and UL508A standards.
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) programming.
  • Servo controls experience.
  • Server setup and deployment.
  • Network design and implementation.
  • Industrial managed switch programming.
  • SCADA systems experience.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Working knowledge of one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, communications systems, control enclosure design, and bills of materials.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • Travel required, approximately 25-50%.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer-based work.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing design and programming tasks.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching during site visits or inspections.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity for reading schematics and assembling components.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and work in industrial environments.
