Voyage Financial Advisors is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent in Wisconsin and Michigan. We are growing and adding a Director of Planning Operations to our team, which serves clients mainly in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota with a focus on complete financial planning. This is a full‑time role that requires you to be in the office at least 3 days per week preferably.
As a Director of Planning Operations, you’ll be a resource for our financial advisors and provide support to the clients of Voyage Financial Advisors, including:
Actively prepare financial analysis and develop financial plans, serving as a hands‑on planner day to day, in a fast‑paced high‑producing environment.
Integrate Microsoft Co‑Pilot and other AI tools into process and operations.
Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial planning team.
Oversee preparation, review, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans and ensure accuracy and process efficiency.
Assist not only in the creation of financial plans but help the advisory team by creating straightforward implementation steps for the advisors to help drive revenue growth through implementation.
Partner with advisors to support client planning strategy, meeting preparation and preparing advisor meeting guides.
Control and form processes for RMDs, internal payment of policies, death claims and opportunities.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of client data within planning and CRM systems.
Improve and scale planning and meeting prep workflows, tasking, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Ability to directly prepare meetings for 20‑40 appointments per week.
Serve as a senior planning resource on complex client cases.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information.
Ensure adherence to Thrivent policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Securities (Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65) and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration.
Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.
Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
Project and Process management experience.
3–5+ years of experience in financial planning or related financial services roles.
CFP® designation preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of start date.
Exceptional people, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
Must be able to work with all roles of the sponsoring financial advisor.
Must be able to represent the organization in work with external clients.
Must be able to cultivate and maintain relationships with outside organizations.
Thrivent Investment Management is the sponsor for FINRA registration, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.
Compensation and BenefitsFull compensation range of $85,000–$120,000 based on experience.
