Position: VP Business Banking Officer - Full Time (40 Hrs/Wk)

About the Role

This role is responsible for developing and managing new and existing lending and depository relationships. Business Banking Officers prospect for new business opportunities, conduct initial loan eligibility, structure individual loans, communicate with all parties, and coordinate the closing of commercial and SBA loans. They will also maintain and service an existing portfolio of business clients, ensuring their ongoing financial needs are met.

  • Prospect and generate new commercial and SBA business through various sales activities, including outside calling, networking, community events, online sales techniques, and referral partnerships.
  • Promote and cross-sell other Bank products and services to meet customer needs, such as business and non-business deposit accounts, credit cards, mortgage loans, and cash management products.
  • Perform customer site visits to promote and sell established products and services.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Incredible Bank brand, enhancing the Bank’s reputation and developing additional business opportunities and centers of influence.
  • Independently negotiate complex terms and conditions of all types of commercial and SBA loans.
  • Review loan requests and credit histories, prepare proposed credit memos with recommendations for loan pricing and terms, in collaboration with Business Banking management and/or the Credit department.
  • Assist and partner with the credit team to underwrite loan requests by conducting detailed financial data analysis to determine if proposed applications meet the Bank’s lending criteria and policies.
  • Consult and present to various committees for approval and/or transactional eligibility.
  • Monitor the commercial loan portfolio to maintain acceptable risk levels in accordance with Bank loan policy, utilizing proper credit risk rating, credit analysis, and loan structure to ensure early identification of potential issues and accurate risk ratings.
  • Conduct daily reviews, approvals, and dispositions of commercial overdrafts and loan past dues.
  • Regularly collect and review reports and financial statements to identify changes in borrower’s economic conditions and respond efficiently to clients’ evolving financial situations.
  • Complete annual reviews with the Credit Team and communicate the Bank’s relationship position to clients.
  • Maximize portfolio profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all Bank products and services.
  • Manage individual Profit and Loss Statement to drive positive financial performance, reviewed annually.
  • Maintain accountability for achieving annual production goals, which are subject to change per annual review practices. Metrics include conventional and Government guaranteed loan production, deposit growth, and referrals to other Bank partners.
  • Gather, review, and forward periodic business, financial, and personal background information.
  • Maintain constructive and positive relationships with loan applicants, borrowers, their representatives, referral sources, and Bank partners, delivering ICE both internally and externally.
  • Provide timely and concise updates on transaction status to Bank partners as needed.
  • Inform prospects and customers of approvals and declinations in both written and verbal form, adhering to Bank procedures and federal guidelines.
  • Utilize the organization’s customer relationship management software to enter and log all sales activities daily. Submit prospect reports and weekly pipeline to management, ensuring all data is accurately entered and managed within the tracking system.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality with internal and external customer information, adhering to all fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal SOPs including SBA SOPs in all client interactions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and economic conditions to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Understand the IB Business Banking strategy and work with management to integrate processes and modules across the industry vertical.
