Location: Town of Wausau
Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking a Director of Finance to join the Aspirus Health Plan team.
The Director of Finance will report directly to the President and be responsible for leading all financial activities for Aspirus Health Ventures. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance, driving strategic planning and forecasting to support organizational decision‑making, and managing financial health‑plan issues with the Aspirus System finance function, including financing and capital management.
Experience / Qualifications- Knowledge of accounting standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related area.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of health plan experience in financial analysis activities, including forecasting and budgeting; excellent financial analysis, forecasting, modeling, and planning skills.
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial management, investment management and debt financing, preferable in a healthcare setting.
- Insurance and/or healthcare industry experience.
- Previous supervisory experience beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Refined ability to communicate, lead, manage, mediate, and facilitate the creation of solutions in complex systems and processes.
- Well‑developed management, interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to provide leadership in a team‑oriented environment and quickly develop effective relationships.
- Understanding of statutory accounting principles (SAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Investment and portfolio management knowledge.
- Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
- Certified public accountant (CPA) preferred.
