Energy Transition Data Analyst - R​/Python

Our client, a leading organization in the European energy sector, is seeking a Market Analyst to support the development of future electricity system scenarios. This role involves preparing long-term energy outlooks, analyzing consumption trends across various sectors, and maintaining data-driven simulation tools.

• Collect and challenge energy scenario data for various European countries to ensure alignment with defined storylines.
• Develop and improve data collection processes and methodologies for the creation of future electricity system scenarios.
• Create and review analytical tools to process simulation parameters and data items.
• Produce data visualizations and reports to communicate complex insights to internal and external parties.
• Prepare presentations and faciliti"se workshops with stakeholders to reach alignment on energy projections.
• Support market intelligence activities by monitoring industry trends and contributing to sector updates.

• 3+ years of experience in the energy sector with a strong understanding of European electricity markets and decarbonisation strategies.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis and development using R or Python
  .
• You have experience coordinating stakeholder inputs or managing consultation processes within a professional environment.
• You possess advanced proficiency in Excel for conducting complex data analyses and handling large datasets.
• You have a strong interest in the energy transition and the ability to challenge projections and scenario data.
• You're an analytical thinker with a proactive mindset, capable of working both independently and in a team.
• You are fluent in English with a fluent level of Dutch and/or French

Nice to Haves

• Experience with the ANTARES economic dispatch tool or similar electricity market simulators.
• Proficiency in data visualization using Power BI
  , Qgis
  , or R.
• Knowledge of VBA for script interfacing and analytical automation.
