Electromechanical Maintenance Lead – 1st or 2nd Shift Operations
This full‑time, permanent position is at a trusted commercial product manufacturer that values employees, fosters a supportive environment, and prioritizes professional growth. The company is expanding, building new facilities, and investing in new machines and custom equipment.
Pay is up to $120,000/yr for a highly qualified candidate. Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. This is an on‑site role in the Wausau, WI area. No remote work. Full benefits included.
Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of Automation & Control Technicians across all shifts, ensuring high workmanship standards and thorough work order documentation.
- Investigate recurring issues on complex equipment and apply troubleshooting methods to identify causes and implement preventative measures.
- Create clear, consistent training materials for technicians, mechanics, and operators, and establish a system that allows experienced team members to train others on new tools and technologies.
- Handle advanced electronic repair and maintenance work, assign tasks to the team, and prioritize projects.
- Coordinate improvements across the company by implementing maintenance routines and overseeing automation‑related projects. 10–25% travel may be required for new equipment installations and cross‑site process alignment.
- 6+ years of relevant maintenance experience.
- 1+ year of leadership experience (supervising technical professionals is a plus).
- Associate’s degree in industrial technology or related field (or equivalent experience);
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Advanced knowledge of industrial controls, components, and automated systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E Electrical Safety and electrical hazard mitigation techniques.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Solid work history.
- U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
- Residence within a 45‑minute drive.
