Job Overview
Apogee Architectural Metals Positions production machine operators to set up and operate equipment according to established procedures and guidelines. Operators use computer‑controlled machinery to select, position, and secure automatic or semi‑automatic tools, adjusting settings to complete tasks accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Operate simple machinery and equipment such as presses, lathes, or cutters.
- Follow standardized procedures for machine set‑up and operation.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machines.
- Read and act on simple work orders or production instructions.
- Ensure products meet or exceed established specifications.
- Maintain attention to detail for accurate machine operation and quality standards.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions using basic problem‑solving skills.
- Cross‑train to support all Operator I roles as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices such as tape measures.
- Proficiency using hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
- Ability to follow blueprints and standard operating procedures.
- Reading and interpreting work instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency (data entry).
- Core competencies:

- Comprehend and follow instructions.
- Perform assigned tasks efficiently.
- Maintain an appropriate work pace and accuracy.

The position is based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to loud noises, variable temperatures, and dust from production processes. Employees frequently work near or with machinery that has moving parts, following strict safety protocols. Shift schedules with potential overtime, including weekends, may be required based on production needs.
