Sub-Function Description

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvement utilizing lean initiatives within manufacturing.

Organizational Impact

Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with limited impact on area. Delivers level responsibilities following a defined standard output or set of procedures. Work consists of tasks that are very routine, or well-defined, with specific instructions to achieve standardized solutions. Work is closely supervised.

Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Generate drawings for production jigs and fixtures.
  • Participate in product engineering for manufacturability.
  • Provide necessary support to the production floor on a day-to-day basis as products are being built.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes, engages outside equipment vendors and solicits operators input to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze production downtime or bottlenecks, establish trends, determine root cause of failure and corrective action.
  • Work with teams to develop, procure, and implement assembly processes for new and existing product lines.
  • Troubleshoot, improve, and help maintain plant tooling, fixtures, equipment and processes.
  • Lead projects with focus on implementing improvements to equipment and processes as they relate to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost KPIs.

Communicates with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.

Follows a well-established and familiar set of activities and/or process to derive a solution. May have responsibility for checking data and information for minor changes.

Certificates | Licenses | Registrations
  • Bachelors in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering related field.
  • 3D software experience.
Experience

Minimum 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Wear safety attire and protective gear when going to the plant floor.
  • Sit, Talk, or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls.
  • Regularly stand and walk.
  • On occasion may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
  • Close vison, distance vision, color vison, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor.
  • Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels when on the plant floor.
  • Are exposed to hazardous equipment on the plant floor.
  • May be exposed to contaminant.
  • May share workspace with others.
