Welder - Weekend shift

Weg Group is hiring a Welder in Wausau. Join our team to build motors and generators with a focus on safety and quality.

• Tack weld body frames and rings
• Weld body frame, rings, and feet
• Stack rotor laminations onto arbors and weld laminations
• Read blueprints and follow job specifications
• Approve and reject raw materials based on quality standards and record supplier performance
• Select output and verify using appropriate methods; measure dimensions, test functionality, and compare to specifications
• Inspect the entire production cycle to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree from a technical school is a plus
• Certified welder—MIG, TIG, wire feed, aluminum, and steel preferred
• Ability to follow established procedures for safety, quality, and assembly
• Proficiency in time and project management
• Basic computer literacy
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the physical and mechanical properties of metal and their composition
• Knowledge of mechanical working and heat treatments, including metal cutting and grinding desirable
• Ability to coach and lead others with respect and dignity

Schedule:

Friday–Sunday, 12‑hour shifts, 5am–5pm. Overtime available.
