Production - Stick Packaging Department

Position Title:

Production Wage: $19.00/hour

5:00am - 3:00pm (Monday - Thursday) Reached a dead end at your current job? Check out how this position can create a new path! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available in Production at a company in Wausau, WI. This is a potential to hire position for 1st shift.

• Sets up (assembles and disassembles), operates, adjusts, cleans, and sanitizes equipment to produce products within quality standards and according to procedures
• Accurately measures and mixes raw materials following batch production recipes and formulations
• Performs minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate
• Assists others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor
• Prints and applies labels to product
• Verifies lot and batch numbers and maintains accurate production records and equipment logs
• Assists in developing and improving SOPs
• Follows all workplace safety protocols and ensure safe operation of equipment at all times
• Maintains a clean and organized work area in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Participates in safety training and report any incidents or hazards immediately
• Works closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to meet production deadlines
• Participates in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles
• Troubleshoots and/or identifies equipment failures or problems
• Adheres to Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) requirements when working in environments with airborne contaminants or hazardous materials
• Maintains required PAPR certification and ensure proper care and usage of all personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Takes necessary samples for QC testing as needed
• Completes necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records
• Adheres to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, and Standardized Work procedures
• Adheres to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications (Kosher and Halal)

• High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process, including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system
• Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches
• Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred
• Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process
• Basic computer skills. ERP system knowledge (SAP) preferred
