Landing Program Coordinator

Position: The Landing Program Coordinator
Location: Town of Wausau

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Programming Excellence
• Responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities for The Landing.
• Ensures programming at The Landing is timely, engaging, relevant, varied, and evidence-based when appropriate, supporting the interests and needs of adults 55+.
• Assesses member interests, community needs, and programming data to identify opportunities, gaps, and emerging needs.
• Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, businesses, professionals, educators, and other partners to expand and enhance programming.
• Works collaboratively with existing partners and seeks new partnerships to provide high-quality programs and experiences for members.
• Coordinates the full program process from initial concept through completion and evaluation.
• Oversees the day-to-day coordination of programs.
• Monitors participation, member feedback, program costs, and other relevant metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future programming decisions.
• Makes recommendations regarding programs to continue, modify, expand, or discontinue based on participation, member feedback, outcomes, and available resources.
• Ensures program information, materials, spaces, supplies, and other details are prepared prior to program delivery.

• Provides exceptional customer service and creates a welcoming, inclusive environment for members and community participants.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and develops an understanding of their interests, talents, skills, and areas of expertise.
• Seeks and responds to member feedback and insights to strengthen the overall member experience.
• Works collaboratively with staff to ensure programs and activities reflect the mission and values of The Landing and the YMCA.Program Administration & Coordination
• Works directly with community partners, presenters, instructors, and individuals to develop and coordinate programs.
• Gathers program descriptions, presenter information, promotional materials, and other information necessary to implement programs.
• Schedules programs and reserves appropriate rooms and locations.
• Identifies supply and equipment needs and submits requests for materials to be ordered.
• Completes program cost calculations and monitors program-related expenses.
• Obtains required documentation from paid providers, including applicable tax and payment information.
• Completes required program checklists and administrative processes.
• Enters and maintains accurate program information in Daxko.
• Creates or coordinates program flyers and other promotional materials.
• Completes required payment and follow-up processes for program providers.

General
• Works collaboratively with The Landing and YMCA staff to support organizational goals and a positive member experience.
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a growing and changing environment.
• Maintains a variable work schedule that may include evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred in human services, business, social services, recreation, gerontology, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Knowledge of healthy aging concepts and experience working with adults 55+ preferred.
• Understanding of the mission, purpose, and operations of The Landing and the YMCA, including the respective roles of staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain authentic, constructive relationships with diverse individuals and groups representing all social and economic segments of the community.
