Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date

• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

• Float to all inpatient units as needed

• Work in a fast-paced 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing pre and post-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients

• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4 or 1:5 on day/PM shifts and 1:5 to 1:7 on night shifts

• Unit averages 10-15 admissions per day with occupancy at 90-95% during the week

• Average patient length of stay is 2-3 days

• Must have ability to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work as part of a team

• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience

• Trauma Level II experience required

• Prior travel experience required

• Epic EMR experience required

• Equipment used includes Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps

• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)

• Associate Degree or Certificate required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred

• Any color scrubs permitted

This facility is a large inpatient hospital offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. The Post Surgical Care Unit is a 40-bed inpatient area that provides care along a continuum for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients following recovery from the PACU. The facility operates at a high occupancy rate and maintains a fast-paced environment, supported by modern technology and a collaborative care team.
