Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Position Overview

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Wausau, Wisconsin.

• Shift: 12‑hour days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)

• Provide post‑operative cardiac care for procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, thoracotomy, and related procedures.
• Manage arrhythmia, heart failure, and other complex cardiac conditions.
• Administer cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and nitroglycerin drips.
• Assist with medical/surgical overflow cases (detox, DKA, COPD, respiratory failure).
• Float to inpatient units as needed, working every other weekend and holiday.
• Adhere to flu and COVID vaccination policies.
• Maintain accurate EPIC charting and secure patient documentation.

• Valid Wisconsin RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac experience (step‑down, intermediate cardiac, or cardiac ICU).
• Minimum 2 years of IMC, PCU, or telemetry experience.
• Recent experience with cardiac medication drips.
• At least one completed travel assignment.
• Minimum 1 year recent EPIC charting experience.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
