Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Open Heart procedures in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves supporting anesthesia providers and surgical teams across a variety of specialty cases, with a main focus on cardiothoracic surgery. The role requires a flexible, resilient, and motivated professional capable of managing change and providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details- Shift Time:
Rotating shifts, 8 hours per day, with various day shifts. - Guaranteed
Hours:
40 hours per week. - Start Date:
07/27/2026. - Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree or Certificate; WI RN License or compact RN, required; 3+ years of operating room and anesthesia experience needed; minimum 3 years experience in OR required. - Certifications:
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); prior travel experience preferred. - Schedule:
8-hour shifts with rotating schedule, 40 hours guaranteed per week, during a 13-week contract. - Additional Information:
The position involves assisting with a wide range of OR cases, including heart surgeries, traumas, elective, and general surgeries. Candidate should have strong OR and Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) circulating experience; familiarity with conscious sedation, intubations, fiber optic scopes, sterile techniques for central lines, arterial lines, lumbar drains, Swan-Ganz catheters, IV starts, labs, medication pumps, Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level I equipment.
The orientation period is two weeks with additional training as needed. A vehicle is required due to a 30-minute response time. The facility enforces a mandatory flu and COVID-19 vaccination policy, with mask requirements for non-vaccinated travelers during flu season.
