Job DescriptionThis Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will triage incoming new patient referrals sent to the Physical Medicine and Rehab Specialties within the Aspirus System. They will work in our EHR system (Epic) to review the referrals placed for specialty appropriateness. Triage will occur through Epic chart review and via phone calls to the patient as necessary to gather information. The RN will work with the provider and nursing teams for optimal patient care, scheduling, and care coordination.
Ensure appropriate scheduling of patients in the correct location, with the correct specialty, within an appropriate amount of time if a referral is marked urgent.
- Associate degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Certification in specialty desired.
- Minimum of one year practicing as a RN preferred.
- Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.
- Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
- Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable BLS training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. - Additional required certifications are defined within the department/clinic's scope of service.
