Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Wausau, WI | Acute Care

Contract (13 Weeks) | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts (Days/Nights) | 7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit with a heavy telemetry focus at a 4:1 patient ratio
• Manage a complex patient population including stable and weaning ventilator/trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Administer and monitor insulin drips and manage primary patient assignments independently
• Float to higher-acuity inpatient units facility-wide as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation; EPIC charting experience preferred
• Adhere to all facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements for staff who decline flu and COVID vaccinations during flu season

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience — firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required

• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• EPIC electronic health record experience preferred
