REGISTERED NURSE - Cardiac Telemetry Unit (CTU) Aspirus Wausau Hospital | Wausau, WI

Full-Time or .9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period
8/12-hour Weekend Only shifts

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Certification in specialty is desired.
• A minimum of four years' experience as practicing RN of which two years have been in a charge nurse role or relevant experience.
• Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.
• Current CPR certification. All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.

TL has accountability for the overall coordination of all the Registered Nurses and other healthcare providers within a specific department. In collaboration with formal leadership, is responsible for overseeing the functioning of the department, which includes participation in direct patient care as well as ensuring appropriate resources to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

Our unit specializes in caring for critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing care. Our patient population includes those that have recently undergone heart, vascular, or lung procedures or surgeries. Common patient diagnoses include (but not limited to):
Acute Coronary Syndrome, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Cardiomyopathy, Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertensive Urgency, Myocardial Infarction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Pneumothorax, Pulmonary Embolus, Pulmonary Emphysema, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Valvular Regurgitation.

As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Telemetry Unit, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. In this role, you will:
