Fire Restoration Technician

Overview

Service Master Restore® is seeking a skilled Fire Restoration Technician to join our team. The Fire Restoration Technician will assess fire damage, perform cleanup and restoration tasks, and coordinate with clients and team members to ensure successful project completion.

• Monitor, inspect, and complete tasks for restoration jobs to ensure drying, demolition, pack-out of contents, and related fire restoration activities are completed.
• Prepare and review documentation, including notes, photos, and documents, according to company policies to support insurance reimbursement.
• Explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to customers in person, using printed materials as a guide with or without supervision.
• Retrieve work orders and ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck for the job; arrive at the work site.
• Complete assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control and urgency.
• Perform fire/smoke damage repair tasks, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal/disposal of non-salvageable materials, and light construction as directed by supervision.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled and report any malfunctions or damage to supervision.
• Inspect jobs after completion, obtain customer signatures for approval, and request payments when necessary.
• Adjust the drying plan daily based on meter readings.
• Resolve issues with customers and communicate daily job activities with supervision and key company staff.
• Prepare documentation and pictures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies according to company policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in fire restoration or related fields preferred.
• Proven experience as a fire restoration technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of fire damage restoration techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
