Overview
Lead Staff (shift leads) are members of a care‑team responsible for leading and maintaining a safe, supervised, and structured living environment for adolescent residents that is conducive to their well‑being. Lead Staff assess group dynamics and resident needs and promote improved social, developmental, educational, and physical functioning of group home residents. The ability to understand the perspective of others is critical and staff must truly care about the success of youth.
This position requires evening and weekend hours on a rotating schedule.
You will work alongside residents to support achievement of treatment goals through engagement in healthy and productive daily activities through the following tasks:
Responsibilities- Lead scheduled shift activities and ensure programming schedules are followed.
- Maintain a safe, supervised, and structured living environment for our adolescent clients.
- Supervise youth and keep track of their whereabouts at all times.
- Facilitate crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and problem solving with and for clients.
- Incorporate client treatment objectives into the individual care of residents.
- Transport and supervise clients at designated activities and appointments.
- Follow program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state licensing requirements.
- Accurately complete and review shift documentation.
- Train new hires following the defined training program.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Initial and continuous training.
- Paid time off.

- Nine‑hour shifts scheduled four days per week on a rotating schedule.
- Shifts scheduled every other weekend are required.
- Shifts are typically during late afternoon and evening hours between 3:30 pm and 12:30 am.
- Holiday rotation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human/social services related field (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience working with a youth population in a residential setting (preferred but not required).
- At least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must be caring and resilient.
- Experience in caregiving.
- Experience working in schools or childcare.
- Experience working in law enforcement or corrections.
- Experience working at youth camps.
- Experience volunteering in a helping role.
