Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin is looking for a caring, organized and adaptable individual to support positive, safe, and lasting relationships between youth and volunteers.

In this role, you will work closely with children, families, and adult and high school volunteers throughout the mentoring relationship. You will help ensure matches are safe, healthy, and successful by staying connected with participants, identifying challenges, providing support and resources, and helping relationships grow.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who enjoys working with people, can build trusting relationships, and is comfortable helping solve problems and providing guidance. This position requires good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping child safety and positive youth development at the center of the work.

• Provide ongoing support to youth, parents/guardians, and volunteers throughout the mentoring relationship, with a focus on child safety, relationship development, youth outcomes, and volunteer satisfaction.
• Regularly assess matches, identify potential challenges or barriers, and develop strategies to strengthen relationships and promote match longevity.
• Conduct required match assessments and youth outcome surveys according to agency standards and timelines.
• Provide individualized guidance, resources, training, and support to youth and volunteers based on their needs.
• Follow and apply child safety and risk management policies and procedures in all aspects of the position.
• Develop and facilitate activities and engagement opportunities that encourage continued volunteer involvement and strengthen connections with the agency.
• Maintain positive relationships with volunteers, children, and families through regular communication, recognition, events, and re-engagement efforts.
• Conduct exit interviews when matches close, document reasons for closure, and assess opportunities for re-matching or continued volunteer involvement.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records and use agency technology to document, track, and analyze match information and outcomes.
• Collaborate with program staff and other departments to support quality services and identify opportunities for volunteer engagement, community partnerships, and donor involvement.
• Attend agency events and participate in activities that support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A bachelor's degree in social work, human services, education, psychology, human resources, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Relevant education, training, and/or professional experience will be considered.
• Experience working with children, families, volunteers, or adults is helpful.
• Experience building and maintaining supportive relationships is preferred.
• Experience in case management, mentoring, counseling, education, human services, customer service, or a related field is helpful.
• Understanding of child development and family dynamics is a plus.
