Middle School English Language Arts Teacher
Christ King Parish School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and academically driven Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to serve our 6th and 7th grade students for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.

Position OverviewThe 6th & 7th Grade ELA Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-based instruction in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature. The ideal candidate fosters a structured, engaging classroom environment that challenges students to grow as analytical thinkers and articulate communicators while supporting their development as young Christian leaders.
- Design and implement engaging, standards-based ELA instruction
- Utilize backwards design and clear learning targets to drive instruction
- Integrate reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking across units
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Align curriculum vertically with middle school colleagues
- Use formative and summative assessments to inform instructional decisions
- Incorporate instructional technology effectively and responsibly
- Establish strong classroom management systems that promote responsibility and respect
- Create a secure, comfortable, and academically challenging learning environment
- Motivate students to achieve at high levels of independence and mastery
- Support and deepen the school’s Catholic culture
- Model Christian virtues in word and action
- Collaborate in fostering faith integration across the curriculum
- Collaborate actively with teaching partners and staff
- Engage in healthy, solution-oriented communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrate professionalism consistent with Christ King faculty values
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

- Understand and implement standards-based instruction and backwards design

- Solve problems creatively and constructively
- Reflect professionalism and commitment to Catholic education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (English, Education, or related field preferred)
- Valid teaching license or Archdiocesan equivalent
(12 semester hours of credit in teacher education as part of, or in addition to, the degree) - Compliance with all Archdiocesan child protection training and procedures
- Type: Annual salary with benefits
- Employment Status: Full Time, school year plus in-service days
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
- Frequent use of hands and arms; ability to sit for extended periods
- Close vision required for paperwork and computer work
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard, monitor, and telephone
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Work performed primarily in a classroom/office environment
