Position OverviewHarley-Davidson is seeking an Associate CAD Design Engineer to support the design and development of motorcycle components from concept through production. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Creo CAD software and component design involving plastic, soft foam, and metallic parts while working closely with cross‑functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using Creo.
- Design and develop plastic, soft foam, and metallic components for motorcycle applications.
- Perform packaging studies and design feasibility analysis.
- Support prototype builds, engineering changes, and product validation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and engineering teams.
- Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, cost, and quality requirements.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and design releases.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2+ years of CAD design experience.
- Strong proficiency in Creo.
- Experience designing plastic, foam, and metallic components.
- Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Automotive, powersports, heavy equipment, or consumer product experience.
- Knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, castings, and manufacturing processes.
